Golden Delicious is the fifth DKNY perfume in the Delicious series. The gold, apple shaped bottle just adds to the sweetness of this perfume! The design and scent are just perfect with Autumn looming and is just the right size to pop into my day bag.

It is such a long lasting perfume; I can go all day with a couple of sprays in the morning and still smell it on me at the end of the day. For me, this is what I look for in a perfume. I want to be smelling lovely, catching the aroma as I go about my day and without having to re-spray all the time.

I cannot wait to get layered up in chunky knits and scarves during the fall and smell really golden delicious! It is also really nice for night time wear too; the long lasting appeal will be perfect for those nights on the tiles.

I really love this perfume. The sweet, fruity scent is just my style and can see this lasting until Winter and even into Spring. It’s such a versatile, modern scent perfect for the upcoming months.

The Glam Shine Fresh Glosses come in an array of colours and are in Superdrug stores now;

Upon applying the glosses to my lips, I didn’t really notice a great difference between them all. They all provided them with a sticky, moist coating but not much colour was added, which was surprising as the pink gloss is very vibrant in the tube. The blue gloss was the one I wanted to try first – I was sceptical of the colour and what it could do to enhance my lips. It applied very neutral and just added lots of glossiness. I have to say, I’m definitely more of a lipstick girl. I like adding colour to my lips rather than a shine; I’m all about matte! These products are great for chucking on in the day though, or if you want to rehydrate them.

Lastly and probably the most intriguing product Superdrug have ever sent me: L’Oreal Studio Secrets Universal Lip Glow in ‘Unique Shade’.

Wow, I definitely wasn’t expecting what I saw when I first opened the lipstick – a bright pink/orangey glowing stick smelling incredibly sweet. This product is completely neutral when you first apply it (infact I was unsure how much to apply as its completely invisible!), then you wait a few minutes and it ‘chooses’ the right shade to match your skin tone. My chosen shade was salmon pink which although was nice, was incredibly subtle. L’Oreal, I’m not sure I am buying into this! I’d rather know what colour is going to grace my lips I’m going to get from the shade on the packaging. Plus, the results were quite underwhelming.

See what I mean? The results were quite similar to the glosses. Very slight colour added to my lips.

All in all, L’Oreal have been innovative with this product but for my lips and style, it didn’t quite hit the mark here. A very intriguing product though, if you want to see what shade this magical stick will come up with, Universal Lip Glow hits Superdrug stores on August 31st xo

Superdrug were one of the main sponsors so I jumped at the chance to experience the music delights and also perks of the Superdrug tent.

The Saturday line up had some hidden gems. Some of the acts I caught were quite unknown to me but were amazing. I watched:

• The Streets
• J.Cole
• Battles
• LMFAO
• The Chemical Brothers.

When I wasn’t watching the acts, I was wandering around the site trying to get my bearings and seeing what Wireless had to offer. It was one of the most impressive non-camping festival I’ve ever been to. The grounds were perfect and so were the stages. I’m not being biased, but the Superdrug tent was the absolute highlight of my day! Despite going to countless camping festivals I’ve always been put off by the unhygienic side of things; I cannot stand the toilets. The sights of the portaloos and the stench just completely ruin my festival experience; I want to feel fresh and fabulous and wow, Superdrug pulled out all the stops to make that possible!

If you brought along your Superdrug Beautycard, you were in for a treat! Cardholders were entitled to unlimited entry into the luxury toilets, complete with clean and tidy toilets, just amazing in my opinion!

And that’s not even it! When you emerged from the toilets you had access to all the Superdrug goodies they had to offer. Products included hand santizer gel, make up wipes, baby wipes, dry shampoo, deodorants and perfume – all festival must haves!

In the Superdrug tent there were MUA make up artists on hand to paint your nails and adorn your face with gemstones – suiting the hot summers day festival vibe! My make up artist was a lovely, chatty girl who really made the experience even more pleasurable – hats off to Superdrug!

My nails applied a top coat of MUA silver crackle effect nail varnish, and my face with 2true gemstones!

The Superdrug tent was also a great place to chill out inbetween watching bands. The bean bags made the place feel comfortable and homely, I had a nice chill and chat with Katie who has helped me on the path of being a Superdrug Insider! Was great to finally meet!

My favourite act of the day was Ke$ha. She was completely insane, the dancers were quirky and diving and crawling around the stage and to top it off, she had so many hits to sing it was just brilliant. The whole crowd were loving her, especially during the encore when she pumped lots of confetti and novelty dollar bills into the crowd!

Another part of the festival life is the food. I can’t say I am a fan of the quality OR the prices. I bought a small chips which cost me £3, and they tasted like polystyrene. Very gutting!

All in all, it was a fantastic day, topped off by The Chemical Brothers (“hey girls…hey boys!”). The last tube home was pretty much a nightmare and so was the 4 hour trip home in which we got lost. However, the lack of sleep the night before (think it was the excitement!) was made up for by countless ciders (at £4 a pop!!) and having a little boogie to the various acts. Brilliant day and an event Superdrug can take all the praise for with their magnificent toilets – “It’s not just points its privileges”! xo

Day 10am-5pm

Simple make up today of Rimmel Match Perfection foundation, eyeliner, day 2 night mascara and Coral Queen lipstick.

The foundation is a huge hit – it promises to adapt to my skin’s tone and texture and I felt it did just that! As it was day time wear, I only applied a thin coat, enough for my freckles to be slightly noticed (so many at the moment due to the sun!) as I didn’t want to be too covered. The foundation glided on well and was easy to blend into my skin and adapt to its tone. The cream gel texture left my skin looking natural and feeling fresh and lightweight, really didn’t feel like I had any on but the mirror said otherwise! Overall a very big yes, and at £6.99 for hours of coverage you can’t go wrong.

Day 2 Night Mascara was applied to my lashes using the lengthen cap. I didn’t want my look to be too dramatic, but to still elongate my lashes in a natural way. It didn’t clump or create messy excess as this cap provides less actual mascara on the brush rather than the volume cap, which is very clever and perfect for contrasting day and night lashes!

For my lips I used the gorgeous Moisture Renew lipstick in Coral Queen. Anyone who knows me knows I stick to my pinks and reds, so this was completely new to me. However, this subtle orangey coral lipstick was a perfect daytime look choice, it surprisingly complimented my pale skin tone and would look perfect for summer!

Hair wise, I kept it very natural to keep with the feel of my make up. I ever so slightly twirled the ends of my hair with my straighteners to create a natural looking wave.

Evening

For my evening look, I started on a fresh base. I first applied the foundation, added a brush of blusher onto my cheekbones then started on my eyes. My trademark evening look is a smokey eye, so using the Glam Eyes Trio Eye Shadow in Twilight Zone, I was able to create a winged smokey look! I found this make up palette completely practical, easy to carry around in my bag due to its compact size with added brush. The only flaw to the palette is it does not come with a mirror, which isn’t ideal for on the go make up top ups. However, all three colours were smooth and easy to blend. The white swatch was great to create a shimmer under my brow to highlight my eyes. I then added the white in the corner of my eye, sweeping the brush over and over until it was noticable. I then blended some grey into the middle of my eyelid, finishing off by blending black into it to create a smokey tri-colour dramatic wing! With underneath my eyes, I added a tiny bit of the white into the corner of my eye again which widens my eye, then the black on the other side to complete the smokey look. The Day 2 Night mascara was then added to my top lashes, curling them with the volume brush and then using the lengthen brush to my bottom lashes so they appear fuller.

Lips wise, red lipstick is my ultimate night out choice. It definitely makes me feel ready to party, I’m rarely seen without it! Rimmels Colour Show off in Be Bold red was the PERFECT lipstick sent to me by Superdrug. It is the lisptick of dreams; it’s not sticky or heavy, its light but pigmented and lives up to its name be bold. Not only is the colour perfect but this lipstick ticks the smell category too, hints of watermelon complete this wonderful product!

To contrast these looks I completely straightened my hair and brushed my fringe to one side to show off my brows and smokey eye make up!

The products:

2 True Plumptuous Lip gloss, 2 True twist and line eye definer, 2true eye duo, 2 True Voluptulash Mascara, 2 True expert eyebrow pencil

• So firstly I applied the shimmery silver/white part of the duo all over my eye towards the arch of my eyebrow. I did this so I could easily blend the black to create the smokey eye wing.
• I then traced the outline of my eye with the eye definer eyeliner which I found really black and smooth.
• I winged the black side of the duo with my eyeshadow brush, blending into the white until it was smokey enough.
• To finish off the eye look I added mascara onto my top and bottom lashes, curling in the process.
• Then shaped my eyebrows so they were more striking.

The Look

My favourite piece was the eye duo. I loved the contrast of the two colours and also the small packaging is also so practical and convenient for on-the-go make up applying. I also loved the shimmer effect it gave my eyes, my eyes sparkled all night long!

The eyebrow pencil was a little too light for my eyebrows, so I used the eyeliner define pencil to trace my eyebrows mixed in with the eyebrow pencil. I usually end up doing this anyway as I find eyeliner keeps my eyebrows intact to create a bold look!

I chose Tuesday 22nd of February to carry out the experiment. I had a few things planned that day that would prove 25 hour to be a winner or a loser.

11am

Straight from the camera no editing! My skin really reaped the benefits of this foundation. it gave me an even coverage, a smooth lightweight finish and most of all covered my dark spots under my eye and toned down my freckles. Fabulous!

3pm

The foundation coverage is still going strong in university, no need to top up or add concealer to my blemishes! So far so good!

7pm

Home and preparing for a night out with my best friend and a load of friends from my old college. The only thing I ammended was under my eyes with a concealer, lipstick and eye make up. I did not feel the need to cover my face in a new layer of foundation and due to the 25 hour experiment I didn’t want to!

12am-3am

Many drinks, sweaty environment and a lot of dancing: my face is still looking fresh and flawless!

My day experiment ends and I’m super happy with the results.So the one con of this foundation is its colour range as Beautyht2 picked up on. The foundation was slightly beiger than my normal pick of Rimmel – Stay Matte. In order to make this foundation a lot more diverse I suggest they make a more paler ivory and create a more pinky tone for pale girls like me! This is the main flaw of the foundation, other than that, 24+1 hour coverage is maintained!

“Our latest false lash effect?

So, Maybelline’s newest creation promises gorgeous false lash effect lashes straight from the tube. It’s design is lovely – eyecatching hot pink with a touch of lace effect on the top. The main difference of this mascara to the rest on the market lies on the brush. The “unique spoon brush” is designed so our lashes look fuller and have no gaps from corner to corner.

I have tons of mascaras on the go at the moment. I always feel that mascara is best as soon as you get it, as it ages through the months and leaves lashes looking a bit clumpy and spidery. I was so due an amazing mascara that I couldn’t wait to get Black Drama!

I found the brush an odd shape, curved and little flimsy. I felt that I could just break it with a few applications! As I curved it against my top lashes there was an immediate difference. My lashes were big and full of life. However, I felt they were a little sticky and had to remove the excess from inbetween lashes. I wasn’t sure if it was the brush or my messy style of applying as there was a lot more mess than usual. Applying it against my bottom lashes was just as messy. There was excess residue underneath my eye which I needed to wipe away with a make up wipe.

Maybe I made the mistake of applying too much mascara for ultimate falsie effect! My lashes just looked even more messy and didn’t live up to expectations. Here’s the results:

I applied the mascara on a natural face of no make up to get a better glimpse of the results. I definitely don’t think I’ll be kicking this mascara to the curb; it did have the first coat difference and felt it did give my lashes a significant boost. Although I don’t think it lives up to its false lashes promises! Maybelline’s promo image for the mascara is totally different, the model is sporting real false lashes which I think is definitely fooling consumers. I think it’s a real boo boo in the industry at the moment; I’d definitely be more inclined to buy make up which isn’t enchanced on photoshop on models as its more a “what you see is what you get” aspect.

The mascara is on offer at Superdrug at the moment at £6.19, which is fairly priced for a new Maybelline mascara. I think I could work with this mascara in the day, and maybe tame my lashes to become less clumpy for night time. Overall, a nice mascara from Maybelline with an affordable price tag and something I’ll get many uses from! xo

Just one coat of the stuff and you can watch it slowly form a crackled effect layer over your favourite colours. I’ve used it on all colours so thought I’d combine some and create Skittle nails!

So in 2 easy steps, here’s what I did:

• Paint nails in rainbow colours taste the rainbow!
• Apply one simple coat of Barry M’s Nail Effect, not overlapping as this will ruin the effect.
• DONE! Crackled Nails

I had high expectations and was quite excited to use these products; I have always wanted a splash of pink and purple in my hair ever since I discovered Audrey Kitchings luscious locks . Seeing as I have dark hair, I opted to use pink and blue and forget the red, black and blonde for now (I was red for three years, black wouldn’t really do much and I’ve been blonde quite recently!).

I sprayed a base of pink onto the left side of my hair – I didn’t want to go overboard just incase the results were drastic plus colour on one side has always floated my boat. I gradually built the pink up with a few more sprays (I was surprised at how pigmented the colour actually was!) before adding the blue.

So by this time I was sporting a dusty pink section in my hair. Time to add more!

This appliance didn’t go quite as well, I couldn’t get the blue to be more subtle (so pigmented and sprays out like lightning!). I think my hair looks patchy, and also due to the sprays sticky nature my hair started to get tangled and bushy. When I tried to brush the tangles out slightly my hair became more and more tangled and felt really dry – like straw! However the colour seemed to stay which was a plus, but having hair like a banshee on one side wasn’t quite what I was after!

Although the sprays were easy to use, I found them to make quite a mess. I followed the instructions by spraying at least 30cm away but as I moved hair around my hands got quite stained. I’d highly recommend gloves (like the ones you get in hair dye packs) to avoid colour ridden hands.

I think you definitely need to get the spray technique right or it can end up looking patchy like mine (if combining colours!) and also, I think you need to be the right person to pull it off. Christmas may be nearly over but I’m after some gifts to myself in indulge in with my christmas money! Mainly I’m after some purpley gothic lipstick for the January bleak period, some more Max Factor foundation (the best foundation i’ve ever used!), some primer to keep my make up looking perfect all day long and some eyebrow gel from Bloom to keep my brows looking healthy. I would’t mind getting my paws on Katy Perry’s new Fragrance Purr – I just love the bottle, so cute!

This post is actually a little belated, I planned to post it a few days before Christmas, before my Christmas goodie bag full of GOSH products arrived courtesy of Superdrug! Its incredible; the nail varnishes are to die for. Sit tight for a post soon!

Anyway, I recently made my eyes look rather iridescent and rainbow-like for a Christmas night in last week. The result was a success, definitely special occasion make up wear. Have a look!

• I first applied a base coat of purple to the whole of my eye. Tracing a basic flick line and shape for my look.
• I then blended a dark blue into the outer 1/3 of my eye, building the colour gradually.
• I got a bright blue eyeshadow and applied it to my crease and inner eye corner.
• I then added more purple to my outer eye to finish the iridescent rainbow look.
• I lined the lash line with eyeliner for a defined look, applied mascara to the tops and bottoms of my lashes and voila!
