The white one will look fab for the first week, if you are lucky and then it will get grubbity grub. If its dry clean only then that’s gonna get expensive!
Black one is going to win hands down. Next year you could remove the collar or cover it with something else to update (thrifty chic!)

Glad you took my advice – I speak from experience having bought a gorgeous white winter coat from French Connection in the sale last year. I’m not one of those pristine women who can keep things sparkly – I trip and spill and get bruises I can’t explain so it looks a bit tired now. Luckily I have other coats to switch it with so I can wear it occassionally and keep it dry cleaned regularly.
