With it being wedding season I can’t help but sit and plan my big day.  No I’m not about to be married; I’m not even engaged, but since my fellow blogger Amy revealed she was engaged I haven’t been able to stop thinking of what I would do on my wedding day.  I’m currently unemployed so girly television is the main part of my day.  Four Weddings and Don’t Tell the Bride are regulars on my tv screen and it makes me think of all the possibilities at a wedding.  It’s not just the dress; but the venue, the cake, the food and the honeymoon must all be perfect.  Nobody wants a bad wedding especially when weddings are so critically judged by the guests.

I thought I’d compile a wedding checklist, I mean who needs a wedding planner when you have a blogger with plenty of time on her hands.

Before I start, I’d strongly suggest you check out your local wedding fayre, they are brilliant in showing what’s on offer.  It’s hard to know what’s available until you go to one of these events.

What to do:

Time till the wedding…

Rule number 1

  • You need to plan

It’ll be stressful but as long as you make a checklist and keep a file with all the necessary documents in; you’ll be fine.  Don’t let the groom get out of the hard work, boss him around and make sure all the finer details are perfected with the help of your loved one.

Here are a few of the most fashionable wedding dress styles at the moment; I love each and every one.

The Mermaid/Fishtail

Full skirt/ballerina

Detailed Sleeves

Crumb catcher

Happy wedding season and I wish Amy all the best :D

What a lovely and thoughtful post Stephy, thanks for the mention! I shall do a return post when I’m back from holiday… I’m in Cannes at the moment, making use of free WIFI ;-)

Oh, I got married this year in April and had read this set of rules before it and got scared thinking I will never pull it off. I only had 6 months to plan everything (and extra help, of course) and I still had some time left to finish my MA paper. SO you can easily organise a pretty wedding in 6 months! And I didn’t even know how I wanted y wedding to be like! But we danced like crazy, it was like a huge graduation party, let’s say :D , with food and drinks and all the people we love. And yes, check lists are a saviour, we kept some sort of an agenda :d, where we kept all bills and lists and stuff.

Gotta love wedding programmes, they always end up catty though. I’m the same as you, sit and look at dresses, but how on earth are you meant to make a decision :/
